Walking through Michael's arts and crafts store, Nicky pointed to a wooden castle and insinuated "she" wanted to buy it (by holding on to the castle and not letting go). She has never played with actual paint before so I figured she was old enough to understand not to eat it. On this beautiful sunny day we went outside with all of our supplies and started to paint the castle. As she was giving the castle a few stokes of paint, she looked at me with a grin and quickly brushed her leg. I can't put into words the giggles that came out of her. She was so excited to put the different colors on her body. Castle painting quickly became a body painting activity.  We had a lovely afternoon and clean up was not as bad as expected (baby wipes to the rescue). The onesie ended up so beautiful that I left it to dry without washing as a memory.

Don't be afraid to try new things with your kids. You'll never know if they are ready unless you give it a shot.
