COLORED DRY PASTA DIY

HOW TO MAKE COLORED DRY PASTA

I have a few activity ideas with colored dry pasta, so here's the basic tutorial on how to make colored dry pasta as the sensory base. An easy, quick to make, sensory base DIY that does not even require the pasta to be cooked! And of course there is no making pasta from scratch in this house, that is just way out of my league! I mean, I admire anyone that has that level of dedication, how do they make them so perfect!?

In the meantime, I will stick to what is easier and faster for a less consuming set up time! Look at how beautiful and bright they come out! Of course I had to make rainbow colored pasta!

YOU’LL NEED:

  1. Dry pasta

  2. Vinegar

  3. Food coloring

  4. Parchment paper

  5. Baking tray

DIRECTIONS:

  1. For every cup of dry pasta, pour 1 tbsp of vinegar.

  2. Add a few drops of food coloring

  3. Mix until all the pasta pieces are fully colored

  4. Place a sheet of parchment paper on the baking tray and pour the colored pasta on top.

  5. Lay out in an even layer and let out to dry for a few hours.

An additional tip for drying the pasta is to place the tray outside for quicker drying and to try to separate each pasta piece when you spread them out so that they dry out evenly.
