DOT THE HEART ACTIVITY

DOT THE HEART MARKERS

If you are looking for a quick and simple arts and crafts activity for kids, try this one! Not many materials nor effort needed to set up, but a colorful idea for your little ones to practice color matching and pre writing skills! It may be called “Dot the Heart” but really they can dot just about anything. Try letters and numbers for a beginners alphabet or numbers activity. Maybe squares or circles to introduce them to shapes. The options are limitless, just let their creativity take over and dot away!

I love watching Emma concentrate and dot carefully distanced dots following the colored line. Not gonna lie, sometimes some mix and match coloring happens and thats ok too! After all, I am obsessed with rainbows and color mixing, so who am I to tell her not to mix all the colors!?

MATERIALS:

  1. Dot Markers

  2. Optional: dot stickers

  3. Paper

  4. Markers

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Draw a small heart in the center of the paper.

  2. Draw a bigger one using a different color. Repeat until you have all the colors of the rainbow.

  3. Have your child dot the hearts decorating them as they go.
