RECYCLED CARDBOARD DRAWER ORGANIZER

DIY RECYCLED CARDBOARD DRAWER ORGANIZER

Alright guys, let’s do this Marie Kondo style! I am pretty sure we all have one drawer that holds everything. Every house I have Iived in has had one and it drives me mad, but it continues to happen!

Although I kind-of feel like junk drawers are unavoidable, I decided to try tackle ours. I wanted to come up with an easy way to organize the various items in our junk drawer and keep them from becoming a chaotic, jumbled mess all over again. So, I made this. All from recycled pieces of cardboard I already had lying around my house. I used paper rolls, but you can also use small cardboard boxes or make your own dividers with scraps.

I held it and it brought me lots of joy. I looked at it and it sparked joy, you know what I mean? Watch the show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix if you have no idea what I am talking about!

MATERIALS:

  1. Any box that will fit in the drawer. Make sure the drawer closes with the box inside.

  2. Paper Rolls

  3. X-Acto Knife

  4. Hot Glue Gun

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Take a picture of your actual messy drawer. (Ok, so this step is not really necessary, but believe me, its so satisfying seeing those before and after moments!)

  2. Insert paper roll vertically into the box and push it all the way down and to the edge. Using a pen, mark the edge on the paper roll.

  3. Cut the paper rolls equally on the paper roll.

  4. Using the hot glue gun, glue the paper rolls onto the box in whichever pattern you want.

  5. Neatly organize your items in each compartment.

If you post your before or afters, tag me! I would love to hear about how this worked for! Not gonna lie, this one definitely made me feel like if I were actually an organized person… let a girl dream a little!
