STRAW MAZE MARBLE RACE TRACK

HOMEMADE STRAW MAZE DIY

You might have seen a few mazes made of straws but how about one in a bag? You couldn’t expect anything less from this bag lady! (if you don’t know why I refer to myself as the bag lady, it’s because I really like sensory bags and share a lot of them… a lot! I would also like to admit that I gave myself this name.)

Reuse a clean zip close bag, some straws (I used paper,) a piece of recycled cardboard and you have your self a homemade recycled maze! This kid friendly DIY makes the perfect at home activity for your kids!

MATERIALS:

  1. Reuse flat piece of cardboard

  2. Straws (Quantity depends on how you space the lines)

  3. Hot Glue

  4. Plastic Zip Bag

  5. Marble

INSTRUCTONS:

  1. Cut the piece of cardboard to fit nicely inside the zip bag. Not too tight, not too loose. Don’t make it exact because it will be too tight for the marble to pass through.

  2. Make a maze using the straws. Use the hot glue to glue the straws to the cardboard.

  3. Insert the maze into the bag. Cut a slot on the bottom of the bag for the marble to exit the bag.

  4. Insert the marble at the top and find its way out.

Tip: If you have little ones under 3, do not cut a slot for the marble to exit. Instead tape the top shut and turn the bag each time it reaches the end to restart the game. Also, remember to watch your toddlers carefully as marbles could be a choking hazard.
