HOW TO MAKE A DIY COMPUTER OUT OF OLD BOXES

DIY COMPUTER FOR KIDS

Are your kids obsessed with your computer? I can’t work on mine when Im around my girls. All they do is fight to get their little fingers on the keyboard.

What they like most about the keyboards is the feeling of pushing the buttons and large bubble wrap kind of has that same effect. Its fun to see how while they play and use their imagination they also develop essential fine motor skills. Making these toys is a great way to reuse packing materials and create a fun open-ended toy without spending any money! The large bubbles made for the best keyboard buttons. Who would’ve thought bubble wrap had a larger life span than just popping them. Not saying that you can’t do just that afterwards!

You can turn this activity into a spelling one by asking your toddlers to press specific letters and numbers. Not only will they practice letters, but also learn some computer skills!

YOU’LL NEED:

  1. Cardboard box with an attached lid

  2. Bubble wrap with large bubbles

  3. Permanent marker

  4. Hot glue gun or crazy glue

  5. Aluminum foil

  6. Styrofoam

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Using a permanent marker write the numbers and letters on the bubble wrap as it appears on a keyboard.

  2. Insert a some styrofoam into the box until you achieve the desired hight for the bubble wrap keyboard.

  3. Use the glue to secure the keyboard onto the styrofoam.

  4. Add some aluminum foil as the screen and that’s it.
