WIPEABLE PAINTING BOARD

This at home activity for kids just made my list of top sensory play ideas! It is definitely my all time favorite use for cardboard and it happens to be the easiest to make too. Oh! And let’s not forget you can make out of recyclable cardboard which just adds to the list of amazing things about it!

I had been wanting to make makeup boards for my kids for the longest time but wanted to make them reusable. So, I covered the cardboard with tape and BAM! magic happened! You can erase and use it over and over again, plus it allows for mistakes to be wiped out and easily fixed. I find it is so satisfying to clean up the areas painted outside the lines, makes it perfect for makeup corrections.

What would you draw for your little one?

MATERIALS:

  1. Recycled Cardboard

  2. Pencil/pen

  3. Black marker

  4. Clear packing tape

  5. Scissors

  6. Paint

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Draw a large scale of any shape you want on the cardboard using a pen or pencil

  2. Once you are happy with the drawing, trace it using a black marker

  3. Cover the cardboard with a layer of clear packing tape. Align them perfectly so that there aren’t any open cracks. Secure the tape on the backside of the board

  4. Use paint, markers, crayons, anything you want to color with and you can wipe it off using a baby wipe or water on a paper towel.

With this basic wipeable coloring board you can basically draw anything on the cardboard and have your kids paint over it. There are infinite themes you can try and it will never get boring! Try it at home with your little ones and let me know what you think!
