RAINBOW COLOR SORT WITH RECYCLED BOTTLES

RAINBOW COLOR SORT WITH RECYCLED BOTTLES

Try this colorful motor skill activity for kids! This time we are working on opening twist caps, color sorting and fine motor skills. Super simple to make and a toy my girls can play with over and over again! Best part, it’s all made from recycled items you can find around your household! Recycle and Play for the win!! Of course I had to make it rainbow bit if rainbow is not your thing, change up the colors to suit yourself. But honestly, I think rainbow should be everyone’s thing, right?

To make this at home activity for kids, you'll need a few recycled items and a few arts and crafts materials.

MATERIALS:

  1. 6 recycled plastic bottles

  2. 1 piece of cardboard

  3. dot stickers

  4. pom poms

  5. hot glue

  6. x acto knife

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cut the top of the plastic bottle

  2. Place them on the piece of cardboard in rainbow pattern.

  3. Hot glue them to the cardboard. Note: the hot glue will melt the plastic a little bit. It does not bother me but you can also use crazy glue for this part.

  4. Place dot stickers on the bottle caps in rainbow colors. If you don’t have dot stickers, you can either paint the caps or cut some colored constructions paper and tape it on.

  5. Sort the pom poms into the bottles. Use a tweezer to take them out of the bottle and restart.
